We had dinner at Pomegranate a couple of weeks ago with family and friends. Erick and I had been once before and were excited to go back, but this time the experience went south.
My dad ordered a mojito (which was actually on their drink menu), but was informed that they were out of mint. This [...]

I went to 202 Market for lunch the other day with a group from my office at Roanoke College to celebrate the end of the year and graduation for some of our interns.
I ordered the 202 Burger. It came out and was stacked really tall and looked beautiful. Everyone commented on how good it looked. [...]

Tonight we had dinner at Bull & Bones Brewhaus and Grille in Blacksburg. It has a really great vibe and it’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’re out-of-town. It’s a pretty big place; they have a big restaurant area and a big bar area. It’s on South Main Street in the [...]

1 pound of shredded cheese (I use swiss and mix in a little cheddar and I shred it myself)
2 jalapeños (finely chopped)
1 jar of banana peppers (drain juice and [...]

I went to the new Corner Bar & Grill on the corner of College and Main in Salem today with a friend from work. It’s like 5 steps from our office, so it’s a must try. It doesn’t seem to be a lucky location because many restaurants have come and gone from that little corner.
It’s [...]

I went to Café Madrid, the new Spanish restaurant, in Salem today. It’s located on Main Street in the old post office and in Michelle’s former location. I was absolutely thrilled when I discovered that they had tortilla española, which is not on the menu. The translation is Spanish omelette, but it’s more like a [...]
